Stone of Manifestation

Some crystals, like some people are just dependable rocks (excuse the pun). No matter what you do, no matter how often you work with them, they are there for you, support you and guide you to what is best for you. Citrine is one of those crystals. Citrine is solid, very solid, but at the same time uplifting and fun.

There is no denying Citrine’s manifestation properties. Once you hold a Citrine in your hand you immediately feel stronger, more alive, creative ideas begins to flow and you find intuitive ways to see your projects through.

Citrine is often referred to as the crystal of the sun and just like the sun raising each day, following a set path and then setting at the end of the day, Citrine will help you to bring your dreams into being, by sparking off an idea in your mind, then helping you come up with the right plan to bring your ideas to fruition.

No wonder then that Citrine’s energies are closely linked with that of Archangel Gabriel. The Archangel whose name means ‘Messenger of God’. Working with Citrine is opening a channel through which Archangel Gabriel can place loving thoughts directly in your mind to be the best person you can be and to inspire those around you.

History:

The name Citrine comes from the French word Citron, which means lemon and relates to this crystal’s colour.

Citrine was used as a gem as far back as 300BC by the Greeks, and the Romans were also fond of this beautiful crystal. They liked their Citrine jewellery to be cut into the “Intaglio” style which is a form of engraving. They believed that this bright yellow crystal would brighten up life and clear all forms of darkness. The Egyptians believed that Citrine was the embodiment of the sun god Ra.

The ancient Chinese saw Citrine as a money maker and even today it is seen as the stone for success.

In the 1600’s the Scottish people decorated their daggers and weapons with this crystal.

Citrine’s Colour:

Citrine is part of the quartz family. It is a yellowy quartz which gets its colour from iron traces deposited in the quartz. The colour can vary quite dramatically from a very pale yellow to a deep burnt orange colour. Natural Citrine is very rare.

It is generally a very soft pale yellow, although one can find the even rarer Madeira Citrine which is a very dark deep brown. Pale Citrine is often confused for Smokey quartz. This is no surprise as Natural Citrine can develop from Amethyst or Smokey quartz that has been exposed to radiation deep in the Earth’s Crust.

The bulk of the Citrine we find today is in fact heat treated Amethyst. The general guide to this is the darker the colour the more likely it has been heat treated. There is a variety of opinion on the healing powers of heat treated Citrine. The chemical structure of the crystal is still the same SiO2, Silicon Dioxide, the chemical structure of all quartz crystals. Only the colour has changed.

I work with both natural and heat treated Citrine and often  find that some clients react better to one or the other. The only thing that I have noticed is that with heat treated Citrine, the clearer one states what one wishes to manifest the better, where Natural Citrine will pick what your aims are and will highlight and clear any blockages in the way.

Function:

Citrine works with the first three chakras as well as the Third Eye chakra and has many functions, but two are very distinct.

The function I would like to focus on the most is manifestation. Manifestation is the product of the first three chakras working in perfect harmony with the Third Eye chakra, in which the thought process of creative thinking is stimulated and helps you to receive insights on to how to make your dreams a reality.

In simple terms by strengthening the lower three chakras, Citrine helps one to stay motivated and gives one the drive and persistence to see your dreams through. It strengthens personal will, gives you clarity of thought which in turns lead to creative thinking. It gives one the courage to make those difficult decisions.

The other function is that of cleansing and protecting one’s environment against electromagnetic stress, but it will also highlight and clear any blockages that stand in the way of manifesting your dreams into reality.

Crystal First Aid:

Because of its sunny disposition, Citrine has a great way of lifting the dark clouds of depression. It helps you to see the positive, more lighter and brighter side of life.

 

What to expect:

This is one of the most fascinating crystals when it comes to how it works and this all depends on the reason for working with Citrine.

For inspiration, clarity of thought and to lift feelings of doom Citrine acts almost instantaneously. For a stronger will and manifestation one has to work with Citrine a little longer, especially as it works first on clearing any mental blocks you have put in your own path and because it works on two levels the creative ideas will flow almost immediately.

The Best Way to Clean Citrine:

Citrine is a natural cleanser and is one of the few crystals that never needs cleaning. It can be used to cleanse other crystals by either placing them on a Citrine cluster or in a Citrine circle.

I do like to rinse my Citrines every so often, especially if I have used them for grid work.

Charging:

As Citrine is so closely linked to the sun, it can be charged by placing it for a few hours in the sun. However be aware that direct sunlight will fade your Citrine.

Placing Citrine on an Amethyst Cluster for a day will revitalise your crystal beautifully.

How to use Citrine:

There are many ways to use Citrine all depending on what you are using it for.

For space Clearing, place a good size Citrine point in the room. This is especially good for rooms that are used for healing.

If you like greater harmony and creativity in groups, then place a Citrine in the room most frequently used by this group.

If you want the Citrine to work with you personally wear it so it touches your skin.

For manifestation, it is best used in a grid. Grid work is especially good to focus energy on a specific intention. It can be used for all kinds of manifestations, from Earth healing to helping you reach your own personal goals. There are three very important points to remember when doing grid work. The first is to be sure that you are very clear of what you want to achieve; the second is to be open to any ideas and concepts the Divine passes onto you and lastly to know that only what is for the highest and purest good for you and all those affected will come into play. Something else to remember when doing grid work is that it will heal and dissolve old hurts and grudges.

Here is the grid I use and recommend most frequently:

You will need seven Citrines and a crystal wand if you have one. These can all be tumbled stones, but it is best to use six points and one tumbled crystal for this layout. Rinse your Citrines in cold running water and let them charge for a day.

Write your intention exactly as you wish it to be on a pure white piece of paper. Place this paper in an area where it will not be disturbed by anyone. If possible face the top of the paper due North.

Now place three of the crystals to form a triangle with two of the crystals about an eighth from the bottom of the page and one crystal at the top of the page. Now form another triangle with three more crystals, this time place two crystals about an eighth from the top of the page and one crystal at the bottom of the page. The triangles should overlap one another. If you are using points, please ensure that all the points are pointing inwards.

Now place the remaining crystal in the centre of the page.

Use your crystal wand to activate the two crystal triangles linking all the crystals together. If you do not have a wand simply join the crystals with your finger. Now activate the manifestation by reading out loud and with intention the words exactly as you have written it.

Stay here for a few moments so that the words of your goal can sink into your being and remind yourself that you are now open to receive this dream into your life in any form that the Universe wish to present and guide you to it.

Leave it until your goal has been achieved.

This is a very powerful manifestation tool and I would like to repeat that you should be very clear on what you wish to achieve.

For Earth healing, replace the centre crystal with a Rose Quartz.

Angels working with Citrine:

Citrine only works with Archangel Gabriel. Archangel Gabriel is one of the Angels that is embraced by all three of the major religions. Judaism, Christianity and Islam all speak of messages that Gabriel delivered and this is why Gabriel is known as the Messenger Angel.

Today Archangel Gabriel still acts as a messenger by delivering messages of hope and support to people who call upon her. Archangel Gabriel helps to guide people to achieve their goals and desires. Archangel Gabriel is extremely creative and once you have called on her help she will find innovative ways to focus your attention on the next step. Archangel Gabriel is especially supportive of the Arts.

Conclusion:

As I have mentioned before most crystals have many functions and influence us on many different levels, but in this blog I write about the function of a crystal that the Angels and Spirit guides want me to focus on most.
