Watermelon Tourmaline -Stone of Wholeness

The Angels kept the most beautiful of the Heart Chakra crystals for last. This crystal, Watermelon Tourmaline, brings about Wholeness. It is truly a magical crystal!

Watermelon Tourmaline’s beauty is unparalleled, this crystal draws you in. Just like a watermelon, it has two very distinct colours, green on the outside and a beautiful pinky red on the inside. The colours are best seen when this crystal is in slices. It is this colour combination that gives this crystal its name.

History:

Tourmaline has the biggest variety in colour and it is thought that through the ages Tourmaline was confused with other crystals, like Emerald and Ruby.

The Egyptians believed that the reason for the variety in Tourmaline’s colours was that it had crossed a rainbow as it journeyed up from the centre of the Earth. It is thought that when Theophrastus, successor to Aristotle, wrote about “Lyngourin” he was in fact referring to Tourmaline.

Even though Tourmaline in all its colours, may have been used for jewellery through the ages it was not until the 1800’s that Tourmaline was classified as a mineral species. It was an American gem collector, George Kunz, who introduced Tourmaline to the mainstream jewellery market when he presented Green Tourmaline to Tiffany & Co in 1875.

The Last Empress of the Ch’ing Dynasty in China, The Dowager Empress Tzu Hin, loved Tourmaline so much that her body now rests on bed of Tourmaline.

Characteristics:

Tourmaline falls into the Silicate family. This is the largest and most abundant crystal family. Tourmaline is a complex combination of minerals with Boron and Lithium as its main components. It grows with a variety of other crystals, such as Quartz, Beryl and Feldspar and forms from gasses given off by the molten rock in granites and pegmatites. Tourmaline’s hardness is 7 – 7 ½ on the Mohs’ scale which is the hardness required for gem cutting.

Tourmaline can be electrically charged when rubbed and this will cause static.

Tourmaline has seven main colour descriptions and Watermelon Tourmaline falls under the Elbaite description, this means it is multicoloured. Watermelon Tourmaline is fairly rare, making it an expensive crystal. It is found in Brazil, Africa and United States.

Pink Calcite, Stone of Connectivity

Compared to the effervescence of Rhodochrosite, this week’s crystal is the complete opposite. Pink Calcite is soft and gentle, so gentle that you can be forgiven for thinking that it has no effect, this is the beauty of Pink Calcite. It promotes calmness and serenity in such a gentle way that one does not even notice the change in oneself.

Over the years I have come to know three of the Mother Goddesses, each being very similar yet very different. Each Mother Goddess is associated with a different part of the world, Mother Mary is best known in the West, Quilla who is related to the Aztecs and only introduced herself to me last week; and Kuan Yin who is the Mother Goddess of the East. Kuan Yin’s energy is soft and gentle, but very supportive.

It is to Kuan Yin which Pink Calcite aligns its energy to and together, Goddess and Crystal help us to reach out to others. Continue reading Pink Calcite, Stone of Connectivity

Rhodochrosite, Stone of Optimism

Hi,

This week’s crystal is Rhodochrosite. It is a beautiful pinky white stone, but is not the first stone one reaches for when you set out to work with Crystal. Yet it should be!

Rhodochrosite is generally known as the Inner Child Healer. This crystal helps one to let go of the hurts of the past.

While working with Rohodochrosite this week I was introduced to a new Deity, or at least new to me. Someone whose beauty and love is unparalleled. She is an Inca Goddess. Her name is Quilla, Mother of All, Protector of the Innocent.

Green Fluorite – The Harmony Seeker

Green Fluorite is another one of Archangel Raphael’s favourite crystals.

So far Archangel Raphael has given us Emerald – The Stone of Success, Malachite – The Stone of the Wise, Ocean Jasper – The Stone of Connectivity and this week it is Green Fluorite – The Harmony Seeker. Archangel Raphael is giving us the tools  to work in close harmony with one another.

There is a lot written in general about Fluorite, but very little about Green Fluorite. It is no wonder then that Archangel Raphael is keen to tell us more about how to work with this crystal.

Green Fluorite is a perfect crystal to follow Ocean Jasper. If we are to understand our close connection, then we have to find ways that we can work in close harmony.

Ocean Jasper

Stone of Connectivity

Today is World Ocean Day.

Ocean Jasper reminds us that the Ocean needs us just as much as we need the Ocean, that the Ocean is the ultimate metaphor for life. On the surface we all lead very busy, hectic; even stormy lives, yet deep within our being there is a profound sense of calm and in this sense of calm the body continues to function without interference from the outside. Ocean Jasper is our connection to this calm. Just like the Ocean, if you fill the body with waste it begins to suffer and this perfect harmony which is our natural state is undermined.

Malachite

Stone of the Wise

Malachite is a Marmite crystal, you either like to work with it or hate it!

I know this is a very strong statement to open a post about the healing properties of a crystal, but no other crystal draws such a decisive reaction.

When I first did my crystal course, a fellow student described the first time she worked with Malachite to the class. She explained that she became extremely moody and would cry for days on end, feeling like she had a great pressure on her chest at all times. This description made me very wary of this stone and it took many years before I truly understood the function and meaning of this crystal.

Malachite is the Stone of Wisdom, it leads you to a deeper understanding of your self. Continue reading Malachite

Emerald

 Stone of Success

There no finer expression of Divine’s great Love for mankind than this crystal. Emerald is the crystallisation of the Green Ray, the Manifestation of Love. It holds every aspect of the Divine’s love, dreams and desires for us, wearing a cleansed Emerald activates our latent potential.

Allowing this energy to flow into our lives open us for some of the most incredible gifts of love and support, but this crystal comes with a health warning! It is such a powerful heart cleanser that it may overwhelm some. Please see the Crystal warning section. Continue reading Emerald

Rose Quartz

In my last blog I mentioned that I had no idea which crystal I had to write about next and for two weeks I have had no indication of which stone it would be about. It was clear that it was going to be a Heart chakra stone, but which one I was not sure about. The Angels must have felt that I needed a bit of a break as my morning meditations were all beautiful and soft, but when I moved into the day’s work nothing! The Angels simply slipped away and my days were spent enjoying the company of my partner. Then suddenly in one meditation the Angels gave me eight crystals all at once, starting with Rose Quartz, along with some additional work that I will post as it is required. The Archangels told me that we are living in very exciting times and it is no coincidence that we will work with the Heart and the Higher Heart chakras now, the two most important chakras of our time.

So here is the first of the eight crystals that the Archangels would like to bring to our attention for the support of the Heart and the Higher Heart chakras.

Rose Quartz, Stone of Love

Rose Quartz is the ultimate heart healer and many Crystal Healers will call it the Master Heart Healer as it is so unshakeable in its ability to heal the heart. It can literally work for any situation the heart can find itself in whether it is a broken heart, an angry heart, a lonely heart or simply an overworked heart.

Rose Quartz will find a way to heal the situation but at the same time Rose Quartz is the gentlest crystal there is, so gentle it will even calm a new-born baby.

Archangel Haniel’s

Circle of Love Crystal Grid

As I mentioned yesterday on Facebook Archangel Haniel had requested that we charge our crystals with the energy of the Pink Moon, so we could harness this energy for Earth healing.

Archangel Haniel’s name means “Grace of God”. In the angelic world Archangel Haniel is associated with the moon energy and one of her functions is to help us to tap into our own healing abilities often using natural remedies and crystals.

Friday’s full moon was a very special moon and in Archangel Haniel’s own words It is extraordinary special”. In the Astrological world it is known as a micro-moon and is when the moon is the farthest away from Earth on its orbit. This occurs only once every year and moves every year by one month and 18 days, so next year this will happen on 9 June. According to Folklore the full moon in April is called the Pink Moon and refers to the first signs of Spring. The energy of this moon is especially loving and supportive and Archangel Haniel wants us to tap into this energy and use it to support Earth and those around us. Continue reading Archangel Haniel’s
